Founded in 1990, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UC provides opportunities for lifelong learning and social interaction for the mature residents of Greater Cincinnati through an annual offering of more than 500 classes and programs serving more than 2,000 people.
OLLI provides loyal Bearcats and other community members a meaningful way to connect with UC and continue their lifelong quest for knowledge while meeting others who share their passion for learning. From graduate-level seminars covering such topics as philosophy, literature or law to useful courses on financial management in retirement to just-for-fun offerings like karaoke or gardening, OLLI's offerings appeal to a diverse audience of learners.
As a program serving adults aged 50+, OLLI engages UC alumni, retired staff and faculty, and community members as students, teachers and volunteers. OLLI participants contribute thousands of volunteer hours to the program and support scholarly research and classroom learning by serving as volunteers and research subjects for Live Well Collaborative, UCBA Nursing program, and other classes and projects. In addition, an endowed scholarship funded by OLLI at UCBA supports nontraditional students. Donations to Friends of OLLI also support scholarships for OLLI students so that no one is turned away for economic reasons.
