Project S.E.R.V.E.
Your gift supports Project S.E.R.V.E.

Project S.E.R.V.E. (Students Engaging with Resources Vision and Enrichment) is a community service initiative geared toward students of color at the University of Cincinnati, and aimed at creating meaningful mentorship and positive black representation through creative development, social and emotional well-being, and academic support. Through these efforts, UC participants convey to CPS students that no matter their environment, socio-economic status or race, they can reach their dreams.

Project S.E.R.V.E. focuses on building relationships between UC students of color and Cincinnati Public Schools students of color that attend the Title I public schools closest to our Uptown campus. The Project S.E.R.V.E. consortium of programs consists of: the literacy program, LEGACY; the mental health and wellness program, Melanin Minds; and the mentoring program, You See Starfish. This program aligns with President Pinto's CPS Strong Strategic Direction and is able to encourage CPS students to create strong relationships with UC students while sparking their interest in becoming future Bearcats.

Project S.E.R.V.E. focuses on the overall development of students within Title I Cincinnati Public Schools. It serves as a program to combat the school-to-prison pipeline by providing CPS students with a UC student mentor. Through this relationship, CPS students receive academic support,  personal development opportunities, mental health resources, and creative outlets. CPS students are empowered to reach their dreams through cultural identity empowerment and representation.

Project S.E.R.V.E. students connecting with CPS students from South Avondale Elementary School. As a part of the LEGACY program CPS students, were given the opportunity to choose a

culturally competent book to take home and read with their families.
