Pride at Lindner

Pride at Lindner (PaL) is the driving force behind an inclusive and empowering environment for LGBTQ+ students, faculty, staff, and community allies at the Lindner College of Business and across UC.

In addition to community-building events, the Pride at Lindner student team has planned a full year of programming, including LGBTQ panels and speakers, professional and career development opportunities, and a domestic program to Chicago. To execute all of these programs, PaL needs additional funding for programming.

Your unrestricted gift to PaL directly contributes to the continued representation and visibility of LGBTQ+ inclusion at UC. PaL programming helps queer, questioning, and ally folks build community, develop inclusive leadership principles, and fosters a safe and welcoming campus environment where all are seen and heard.

As a new student organization, PaL is starting nearly from zero with fundraising dollars but has two ambitious goals for this academic year - 1) raise money to establish an endowed PaL scholarship fund and 2) implement robust programming to fulfill the organizational mission. Your support can help PaL achieve both.

PaL Scholarship Fund
According to a 2019 survey from Student Loan Hero, 60% of LGBTQ individuals reported a lack of support from their families. In addition to not feeling accepted, 28% of respondents have been forced to leave their homes because of their sexuality. This financial chokehold is particularly devastating to LGBTQ college students, who can find themselves cut off both emotionally and financially. Per Student Loan Hero, on average, LGBTQ borrowers graduate with $16,000 more than their cis/het peers. Studies also show that LGBTQ students face additional obstacles in the process of getting loans, during their studies on campus, and entering into the job market after graduation. The PaL Scholarship Fund seeks to aid these vulnerable students in need.

PaL Program Funds
In addition to community-building events, the PaL student team has planned a robust year of programming, including LGBTQ panels and speakers, professional and career development opportunities, and a domestic program to Chicago. In order to execute all of these programs, PaL needs additional funding for programming.

Your unrestricted gift to PaL directly contributes to the continued representation and visibility of LGBTQ+ inclusion at UC. PaL programming helps queer, questioning and ally folks build community, develop inclusive leadership principles and fosters a safe and welcoming campus environment where all are seen and heard.

We want you to be part of our founding community where your contribution has immediate and significant impact today and helps establish a legacy for UC LGBTQ+ folks for generations to come. Join us.
