The Portman Center for Policy Solutions was created to encourage civility, bipartisanship and finding common ground to achieve policy solutions. The Center aims to inspire students, faculty and community partners to grow as citizen-leaders who advance the public good, and through its mission, also intends to influence the national political climate at a time of growing partisanship and incivility.
The Portman Center for Policy Solutions is committed to cultivating student civic leaders from across the political spectrum, through a mentored scholarship program for undergraduates with demonstrated potential for to make an impact on campus, in Cincinnati, and across the country. The first cohort of Portman Center Fellows started in January 2024, and future classes will be selected through an application process each Spring, beginning their term with the start of the next academic year.
As part of the program, the fellowship includes civic leadership development, small group meetings with government officials and leaders, a focus on public policy impact, and visits to national, state, and local government offices.
Gifts enable us to better serve our mission of promoting civility, bipartisanship, and common ground solutions. They help support our programming and our investment in student fellows.
