Engineering and Applied Science

At the College of Engineering and Applied Science, the generosity of alumni and donors like you is helping bring our vision to life. Gifts to the college propel CEAS into its next chapter of academic and research excellence.

We need your support to ensure we have the critical resources to embrace today’s changes and challenges: creating new opportunities for students, attracting faculty of distinction, and supporting innovation in research, outreach and experience-based learning.

The funds listed below have been identified by the college as our priorities for this Day of Giving. While we would love to have your support for any of these or the UC Fund for CEAS, we encourage you to support any fund that is meaningful to you.

At CEAS, we fuel growth through hands-on experiences. It is imperative to continue providing our students with real-world learning opportunities that enhance the unparalleled value of our rigorous curriculum.

Double your impact with a UC Day of Giving Match

  • Gifts to the CEAS Alumni Endowed Scholarship Fund will be matched by the CEAS Alumni Board, up to $5,000. One of only a handful of scholarships available to upperclassmen, these funds provide critical support to students who are no longer on co-op and provides financial support during their final year on-campus.
  • Gifts to the CEAS Dean’s Discretionary Fund will be matched personally by Dean John Weidner, up to $5,000. Donations to this fund allow Dean Weidner to use them in driving the strategic direction of the college and supporting our mission of educating students and creating and disseminating knowledge.
  • The A. Allen Arthur Student Success Fund was established to provide programmatic support for the A. Allen Arthur Student Success Center and the advising team; enhancing their efforts to provide academic support to all our students in CEAS. Gifts to the fund will be matched by the college and individual donors up to $5,000.

Additional Funds that need your support

  • UC Fund for CEAS provides unrestricted funds that allow us to support the areas of greatest need. It takes great resources to foster an environment where critical research efforts can drive new breakthroughs in science and technology, as well as recruiting new faculty to teach and lead research while also retaining staff who are dedicated to being leaders in their field.
  • The Ralph A. Van Wye Endowed Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to CEAS students entering their second year of study. This fund was set up in memory of Professor Ralph A. Van Wye (ChemE 1924), who served nearly four decades as a Chemical & Metallurgical Engineering professor and coordinator of the co-op program.
  • The CEAS EXPO Fund provides additional support to ensure the CEAS EXPO remains a cornerstone event for the College of Engineering and Applied Science. The EXPO provides students the opportunity to showcase their innovative capstone projects and donations will  be used to help fund the prize pool which is used to award cash prizes to winning teams in a variety of categories in recognition of our students' hard work and impressive projects.
