The African American Cultural & Resource Center (AACRC) fosters an atmosphere where lively conversation is welcomed and encouraged, leadership development and academic success are prioritized, and quiet study spaces are regularly utilized. The AACRC also hosts several large-scale traditional programs that are annual marquee events of the African American experience at the University of Cincinnati.
Now celebrating its 33rd year, the AACRC serves as a resource for enlightenment about the Black experience and has become a known resource for variety of organizations on campus and in the Greater Cincinnati community.
The AACRC helps prepare students to become effective leaders, and plays a key role in the mission of the university by:
Your gift to the AACRC supports opportunities for students like the Transitions Program which enhances the first-year experience for new students by offering leadership training, workshops, peer mentoring, and social and academic activities to prepare them for college and beyond.
For 25 years, Transitions has supported the retention and graduation of over 1,000 students, many of whom have become Student Government leaders and active members in organizations like fraternities, sororities, and various campus roles — all while excelling academically. Transitions Program alumni continue to succeed professionally around the world.
In honor of its 25th anniversary, we invite Transitions Program alumni to contribute $25 or more to help expand the program's impact on retention, graduation and student success.
Thank you for your interest in donating to the African American Cultural & Resource Center. As University enrollment numbers continue to increase, the AACRC has in turn been serving more and more students. Due to this, we always appreciate the support from our village.
