Because of your generosity, we raised more than $1.2M from 3,400+ gifts in another record-breaking #GivingTuesday! Thank you to everyone who celebrated and supported the people, places, and things closest to your heart.
A special thanks to those #GivingTuesday donors who chose to support one of our three Bearcats Pantry locations (Clifton, UC Blue Ash and UC Clermont) this year. Collectively, you made 248 gifts totaling $13,651 for our most vulnerable students so they can stay enrolled and graduate. With some UC students facing lack of family support and others struggling to make ends meet, demand has never been higher for the free food, hygiene and cleaning supplies offered at our “local pantry.” Our goal is to assist students in need by cutting down their grocery bills and connecting them to other resources in an effort to promote independence.
From all of us at the University of Cincinnati Foundation, thank you for your support!
Thank you to Melissa W. Hurst, MD ’64 for her generous gift of $727,272 to the IvaDean Medical Student Scholarship Fund.
Generations of medical students at the University of Cincinnati have one special thing in common—a woman who has worked in the Dean’s Office for more than 50 years, making sure “her kids” were taken care of as they studied to become physicians. The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine Class of 2003 used its class gift to start the IvaDean Medical Student Scholarship Fund as a tribute to this woman’s profound influence on medical students as an advisor, advocate and confidante. The scholarship honors IvaDean Lair and her role as “the person who has contributed the most to making medical school manageable,” according to the medical students she assists.
