The University of Cincinnati has proudly served our nations heroes and dependents since our inception in 1819. The Office of Veterans Programs & Services was founded to ensure that all individuals associated with the military that chose UC would have a seamless transition from the Armed Forces to college.
Gifts to the newly created Major Samuel J. Mantel Fund will support the Veterans Programs & Services at UC.
Why Mark and Leslie Bricker created the Manel Fund:
"Sam Mantel was my boss when I was a teaching assistant in the UC College of Business during the 1976-77 academic year. I was very fortunate to be mentored by Sam. He was a great teacher who cared deeply about his students. Sam also served his country as a decorated fighter pilot in both World War II and the Korean War. He was awarded both the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal. Leslie and I are very excited to be able to remember Sam by creating a fund to help student veterans. Our veterans do so much to safeguard our freedoms and it is good to help them as they transition from military to civilian life."Gifts to the Major Samuel J. Mantel Fund will be matched, up to $1,000, by Dr. Susan Powell Mantel and Michael L. Mantel.
