The Greater Cincinnati STEM Collaborative is a nonprofit on the mission to create a robust, equitable STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) talent pipeline to meet the accelerating demand for STEM jobs in our three-state region. GCSC brings education, community, and business partners together to provide rich STEM learning experiences for our students. These experiences are proven to grow student interest in, and confidence, to pursue STEM careers.
GCSC's "hands-on, minds-engaged" programs immerse students in the fun of STEM and prepare them to find their own love of learning. The GCSC STEM Bicycle Club engages middle school students to strengthen their critical thinking, problem solving, and persistence/perseverance skills. Each week students make micro adjustments to, and reverse engineer, a new bicycle that they get to keep at the end of the 10 week at-school, after-school program. The club also exposes students to STEM career possibilities through the involvement of community mentors and coaches. To celebrate their learning and accomplishments students attend the culminating STEM Bicycle Club Celebration hosted at the University of Cincinnati.
A gift to the GCSC Fund makes these educational programs possible.
