Since its founding in 2011, the Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic (ECDC) — a teaching clinic where third-year law students work under the supervision of its licensed director — has offered free legal advice to over 400 small businesses and entrepreneurs, providing more than $1.4 million worth of legal services to the regional business community.
This program makes a positive impact on our students by teaching them how to work with real-world clients. Entrepreneurs, small business owners, and non-profits interested in working with ECDC have to meet certain income guidelines to qualify for free legal assistance. Without these legal services, it's safe to say that many of these small businesses would not still be around today.
Your support would help sustain the program and provide a stipend for student fellows working over the summer with small businesses.
UC and UC Health employees can give via payroll deduction today!
