UC Clermont Student Government consists of a team of students working in collaboration to improve the campus for students, staff and faculty. We help with the establishment of new student organizations to keep an environment for growth and change. We work closely with faculty and staff to ensure that what we are doing is what’s best for the college, while being mindful of college and university regulations and policies.
Our mission to represent the student voice at UC Clermont is an ongoing effort that requires a lot of attention and funding resources to invoke the changes that we need to make. We have many needs, wants and ideas that have been brought forward and we feel it is our goal to meet these requests as often as possible but the lack of funding resources makes this difficult. Our group is active and attends meetings, conferences, campus events, and leadership workshops to improve ourselves and to do our best work on behalf of UC Clermont. We are the voice, eyes and ears of the student body.
Our motto this year is “Let’s make some noise” because we are dedicated to making serious change for the students of UC Clermont. Our leadership team is small but we are mighty! We are encouraged by the great work we could do for the students of UC Clermont with the addition of some much needed financial resources.
Our goals for the 2019-2020 academic year are: (1) Create a leadership series that focuses on first-year students to prepare them for leadership on campus and in the community. (2) Increase funding opportunities for new student organization development and to expand support for existing on campus. (3) Sponsor a campus-wide event that features a local leadership expert.
