The CPS Opportunity Scholarship provides support to students and alumni of the Cincinnati Public School system who are enrolled in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services (CECH). On average, 4% of CECH first-year students graduated from CPS with the majority of these students being first-generation and/or underrepresented minorities. Many of these students face financial hardships and struggle to afford books and other school supplies.
Within President Pinto’s Strategic Direction, this scholarship aligns perfectly with the CPS Strong Initiative. Since it supports CPS students specifically enrolled in CECH, we are giving students the opportunity to have less financial hardship, which allow them to focus more on their schoolwork.
